From January, 1994 to September, 1998 we provided moment-tensor solutions for magnitude greater or equal 4.0 earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest region using regionally recorded broadband seismograms. Quarterly summaries for this time period are included in the Pacific Northwest Regional Seismic Network reports. Curretly, we are continuing moment-tensor research for the Juan de Fuca plate with funding from the National Science Foundation.

Background:

The method is described in Nabelek and Xia, Geophysical Research Letters, 22, 13-16, 1995 with an application to the 1993 Scotts Mills, Oregon earthquake. The 1993 Klamath Falls, Oregon earthquake sequence is described in Braunmiller et al., Geophysical Research Letters, 22, 105-108, 1995.
